FirstCapital Bank of Texas Appoints Bishop Bank President

June 16, 2021

Jeremy BishopMidland-based FirstCapital Bank of Texas has promoted Jeremy Bishop to bank president. He will continue to office at the bank’s downtown location in Midland. Since 2017, Bishop has served as Midland market president. He has 15 years of bank industry experience and specializes in commercial lending.

“During his 15 years at FirstCapital Bank of Texas, Jeremy has served—and excelled—in numerous roles within the bank while proving to be an excellent leader and establishing a great team in our Midland market,” says Brad Burgess, CEO. “We look forward to Jeremy leading our bank as president and know he will continue to help move the bank forward with his leadership and direction.”

Born in Dimmitt, Bishop has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas Tech University and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church and sits on the scholarship review committee for the Permian Basin Area Foundation. He is a former member of the Rotary Club of Midland and the United Way allocation panel, as well as a former board member for the Buffalo Trail Council.

“I have met and forged many relationships in my 15 years living in Midland,” Bishop notes. “However, with this new role, I look forward to forming new relationships with hard-working, entrepreneurial and honest people in all our markets throughout Texas.”

Established in 1998, FirstCapital Bank of Texas has banking offices in Amarillo, Burkburnett, Byers, Dallas, Fredericksburg, Henrietta, Horseshoe Bay, Lubbock, Marble Falls, Midland and Wichita Falls.
