FirstBank Southwest School Spirit Card Program Gives Back Nearly $57,000 to Area Schools

March 27, 2024

Amarillo-based FirstBank Southwest has been donating to area schools through its School Spirit Card program since 2019. In 2024, 20 schools in the Texas Panhandle accessed the program to create, market and distribute customized debit cards with the school logo and mascot. The customized cards allow users to show off their school pride and give back to their school district.

For every debit card transaction, FirstBank Southwest donates a portion to the corresponding school district. The more transactions on the cards throughout the year, the more money the school receives. Each school district can use these donations in any way, without restrictions. Both personal and business accounts are eligible for the debit card.

Totals for 2023 school donations:

  • Perryton ISD: $21,291.55
  • Booker ISD: $6,203.90
  • Hereford ISD: $8,691.85
