First United Bank Named 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award Winner

April 11, 2024

Durant, Oklahoma-based First United Bank , which currently operates 39 branches in Texas, has received the prestigious 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award. This accolade celebrates organizations with the most engaged workplace cultures globally.

The Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award winners boast a ratio of engaged employees to disengaged employees that is 11 times higher than the global average. While only 23 percent of employees worldwide and 33 percent of employees in the U.S. workforce are engaged, 70 percent of employees within winning GEWA organizations exhibit engagement.

“At First United, we are dedicated to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive,” says Greg Massey, CEO. “This award reaffirms our commitment to our values of extending love and making an impact in all we do.”

Gallup’s analysis of team engagement and performance—encompassing data from more than 2 million employees across 276 organizations, 54 industries and 96 countries—underscores the significant advantages of highly engaged workplaces. These organizations consistently outperform their counterparts across critical business metrics, including customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, quality, well-being and organizational citizenship.

“Congratulations to the 60 organizations that have redefined what it means to be a great workplace,” says Jon Clifton, Gallup’s CEO. “Your dedication to creating environments where employees feel heard, valued and empowered to utilize their strengths daily sets you apart. Thank you for establishing a new global standard for thriving workplaces.”
