Durant, Oklahoma-based First United Bank has been awarded the prestigious Sustainability Leadership Design Award from CoreNet Global–North Texas for its banking office on Taylor Street in Sherman. CoreNet Global is a leading professional association for corporate real estate and workplace executives, service providers, and economic developers. The Sustainability Leadership Design Award celebrates work that accelerates the adoption of environmentally friendly and socially responsible real estate practices.
The Taylor Street building in Sherman was designed in partnership with global architecture firm Gensler and was integrated with the bank’s greater purpose of inspiring and empowering others to “spend life wisely,” the bank’s motto. The space creates an inviting community environment using sustainable materials and practices. It includes innovative and collaborative elements such as a coffee and learning lounge, tech table and community room available to the public. The location offers commercial real estate, commercial/retail banking, investments and insurance, and mortgage services under one roof.
