Regulatory Actions

Here are the latest regulatory agency transactions regarding Texas bank applications—including new charters, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment and relocation of bank branches—as filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Texas Department of Banking (TDB), Federal Reserve Board of Dallas (FRBD) and the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. (FDIC):

February 9–15, 2025

Mergers and Acquisitions

The TDB reports that The Chasewood Bank, based in Houston, has merged into Austin Bank NA and its parent company, Austin Bancorp Inc., based in Jacksonville.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by First United Bank, based in Dimmitt, to acquire the following branches of Vista Bank, based in Dallas: 317 Main Street in Abernathy; 701 Main St. in Hale Center; 101 North Ave. E in Haskell; 930 Frontage Rd. in Idalou; 1523 Main St. in Petersburg; 3000 Olton Rd. in Plainview; and 901 Main St. in Ralls.

Branches

The OCC reports that First National Bank Texas, based in Killeen, has applied to establish a branch at 10241 North Fwy. in Houston.

The OCC reports that Texas Heritage National Bank, based in Daingerfield, has applied to establish a branch at 1600 Rio Grande St. in Austin.

The TDB reports that Texas Regional Bank, based in Harlingen, has established a branch at 5709 W. Lovers Ln. in Dallas. The agency also reports that Texas Regional Bank has applied to establish a branch at 15147 Preston Rd. in Frisco.

The TDB reports that Frost Bank, based in San Antonio, has applied to establish a branch at 3000 Golden Triangle Blvd. in Fort Worth.

The TDB reports that TexasBank, based in Brownwood, has applied to establish a branch at 2201 Midtown Ln. in Fort Worth.
