Laredo-based Falcon Bank opened its newest location in Zapata on August 30. The full-service branch, located at 134 S. U.S. Hwy. 83, was acquired from Roma-based Citizens State Bank.
“This transaction provides us the opportunity to service our existing customer base and further expand our market share in the Zapata community,” Gilbert Narvaez Jr., president and CEO, told the Laredo Morning Times. “It has always been important to Falcon to pursue opportunities in the markets we know best and excel in meeting the financial needs of our customers. We have cultivated many banking relationships in this community and we welcome the Citizen’s State Bank customers and employees to the Falcon Family.”
Established in 1986, Falcon Bank celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. With the completion of this transaction, Falcon Bank will have total assets exceeding $1.7 billion and 19 locations along the IH-35 corridor from Laredo to Austin, as well as along the U.S. and Mexico border from Brownsville to Del Rio. Falcon Bank also has banking representative offices in Monterrey and Guadalajara, Mexico.
