The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) will host hundreds of community bank leaders during its 2022 ICBA Capital Summit, May 1–4 in the nation’s capital. Throughout the week, community banks will meet with key policymakers to bring greater awareness to the community banking industry’s legislative and regulatory agenda and share personal accounts of its efforts to foster economic growth and prosperity to communities nationwide.
Confirmed speakers for this year’s ICBA Capital Summit include Senator Mike Rounds (R–South Dakota), a member of the Senate banking committee; Graham Steele, assistant treasury secretary for financial institutions; and ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey.
In conjunction with ICBA’s annual Capital Summit, the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) will hold its 28th annual Congressional Visit in Washington, D.C. It’s the ideal opportunity for Texas community bankers to gain visibility with key decision-makers from the Texas Congressional delegation and other important members of the banking industry. Decisions made on Capitol Hill have a tremendous impact on community banks across Texas, and this is your chance to talk to those making the rules and regulations that affect your customers, bank and community. Only bankers can provide real-life examples that tell the true story about the challenges they face every day due to the current regulatory landscape. Many of IBAT’s associate members attend the summit, as well, as they receive valuable networking and face time with bankers, and enjoy being part of this important process.
