Capra Bank Assembles Advisory Board Comprised of West Texas Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders

August 14, 2024

On August 8, Greg Garland, president of Dubuque, Iowa-based Capra Bank, announced the assembly of a local advisory board that includes seasoned bankers, successful businessmen and native West Texans. Last September, Capra Bank opened its first Texas branch in Lubbock.

“[The advisory board’s] guidance, expertise and intimate knowledge of the Lubbock community will be integral in Capra Bank’s growth and success,” Garland says. “We are thankful that these exceptional West Texans have decided to join the Capra team.”

The advisory board will provide strategic advice, current knowledge on market conditions, critical thinking and access to varied business networks to increase the overall reach and influence to ultimately cultivate success for the bank.

The Capra Bank Texas advisory board members:

  • Barry Orr, advisory board chairman, retired banker, businessman, investments and real estate developer;
  • Brett Bamert, president of Bamert Seed;
  • Barry Brown, owner of ACME Electric;
  • Ty Craft, principal of Tigris Real Estate;
  • Ricky Green, local businessman and investor;
  • Dr. Joshua Partain, DC, owner of West Texas Neck & Back;
  • Dr. Satish Patel, owner and physician, Exceptional Community Hospital Lubbock;
  • David Rogers, owner and principal of David Rogers Homes; and
  • Trey Strong, owner and principal of West Texas Land Guys/Trey Strong Custom Homes.

Established in 1946, Capra Bank operates in Iowa, New Mexico and Texas.
