In December, San Antonio-based Broadway Bank announced that it has appointed two new members to its board of directors: Trinity University’s Sunita White and Feik Enterprises’ Colleen Dean.
White brings more than 30 years of expertise in accounting and finance to her new role on the board. She is the director of the Master of Science in Accounting program and Brown Professor of Professional Practice of Accounting at Trinity University. Before joining Trinity University, White held various leadership positions at Ernst & Young LLP, culminating in her tenure as an assurance partner in the firm’s San Antonio office from 2008 to 2020. She also served as controller and acting chief financial officer for the health care products division of Jordan Industries Inc.
White holds an MBA degree with high honors from Texas A&M University and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois with a BS degree in advertising. She is a certified public accountant in Texas and has earned additional certifications in environmental, social and governance (ESG) specialization and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) foundations. White is actively involved in nonprofit organizations, previously holding board positions with Blood Cancer United of South Central Texas, B.I.G. Love Cancer Care, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas and CAT Alliance Trinity.
Dean brings more than 35 years of experience in financial services. She currently serves as executive officer at Feik Enterprises LLC, for which she works closely with the principals to guide financial strategy, asset management and the family office operations. Before assuming this role, she consulted with Feik Enterprises while serving as a partner at Holland-Dean Family Office Services, advising families and closely held businesses on estate structuring, charitable strategies and financial education. Earlier in her career, Dean spent 35 years with JPMorgan Chase & Co., holding senior leadership positions in San Antonio, including managing director and market manager for the JPMorgan Private Bank, before retiring from the firm.
Dean holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics and fashion merchandising from Texas State University and an MBA degree in finance and accounting from the University of Texas–Austin. She is a certified financial planner. A longtime San Antonio resident, Dean has served 14 years as an advisory director for the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University and more than 17 years in leadership roles with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, including non-executive chair. Dean continues to serve as an advisory member for the YMCA.
“We are thrilled to welcome Colleen Dean and Sunita White to our board of directors,” says Rick Timmins, chair. “Their appointments further deepen Broadway’s strength and stability, and their expertise in financial services and community leadership will help drive our mission to serve clients and communities with excellence.”
