American State Bank Expands to South Plains, Opens Loan Production Office in Lubbock

June 28, 2022

Tyler-based American State Bank recently expanded its footprint with the establishment of a loan production office in Lubbock, according to a report in the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Bud HolmesThis is the first of several planned expansion offices by American State Bank. The new office, located at 4010 82nd St., Ste. 110, will be led by Bud Holmes, regional president of the bank’s Lubbock market. Holmes is a longtime banking leader in the Lubbock and South Plains area.

“As a community bank committed to Texas, we’re looking to fill a need for entrepreneurs, businesses, farmers and ranchers whose previous banks may have merged and moved on,” says Brandon Steele, chairman of American State Bank and its holding company, Steele Bancshares Inc. “I can’t think of a better leader in the Lubbock banking community than Bud Holmes. His roots are firmly planted in Lubbock and his commitment to civic and community affairs are well known.”

“I am very excited to help establish American State Bank’s footprint in Lubbock,” Holmes says. “Our core values and commitment to community businesses are well known throughout Texas. And our focus on technology and banking services positions us strongly for our customers’ growth. We are committed to the growth and success of our customers and the entire West Texas community.”

Established in 1911, American State Bank operates six locations in the Tyler area (Smith County), as well as eight locations in East Texas (Shelby, Angelina and Tyler counties).
