Corpus Christi-based American Bank was recently presented with the Ted Oakley Legacy of Change Award by Foster Angels of South Texas. Named after Foster Angels founder, Ted Oakley, the award honors an organization or individual whose philanthropic efforts are creating an exceptional impact to further the mission of Foster Angels of South Texas. The award was bestowed to Stephen C. Raffaele, president and CEO, during the Foster Angels Champions of Courage event held recently in Corpus Christi.
“I’ve known Ted for many years, and I know his standard for excellence. It means so much to all of us at American Bank to receive an award with Ted’s name on it from an organization Ted founded and where he has poured so much of his energy and time,” Raffaele says. “Foster Angels does important work for our community. It’s an organization that makes a difference where and when it matters.”
“More than 49,000 children and youth in foster care have been positively impacted by Ted Oakley and Foster Angels’ efforts since our inception 25 years ago,” notes Trista McGinnis, development director for Foster Angels of South Texas. “So much of this was made possible with support from American Bank, and we felt it was only appropriate that they receive the Ted Oakley Legacy of Change Award. We are so grateful for their genuine concern for this vulnerable population who mean so much to us.”
