Amegy Bankers Unite for 34th Annual United Way Giving Campaign with a Nod to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

February 5, 2024

United Way of Greater Houston is banking on some 750 Amegy Bank employees for its 34th annual United Way Giving campaign, which the bank is calling “Amegy Bank Through the Years: The Eras Tour.” Themed around Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, Houston-based Amegy bankers are dedicating February 1 through 23 to raising money for their communities while celebrating the various eras of Amegy Bank, which, like Taylor Swift, was born in 1989.

Amegy Bank’s 2024 Houston campaign is chaired by commercial lending manager Adam Traweek and private banking manager Melissa Moncrief. Through their leadership and the teamwork of Amegy Bank colleagues, bankers will participate in campaign activities ranging from Taylor Swift concert watch parties and karaoke singalongs to online auctions and other fun-filled fundraisers.

“It’s a privilege to give back to the communities we serve in such a meaningful way—and this year, with a fun, music-inspired spin that’ll be sure to galvanize our colleagues and get everyone excited to give,” Traweek says. “We are so grateful for Amegy’s fundraising teams and individual donors, and their families, for their generous contributions. Amegy bankers’ donated funds, resources and time will undoubtedly make an impact for Texas families who may need help.”

Bankers volunteered at nonprofit organizations Bread of Life on February 8 and Community Family Centers on February 9 for this year’s dedicated United Way Days of Caring. Central Texas and Dallas/Fort Worth Amegy Bank employees will also host respective United Way campaigns February 1 through 23, benefitting metropolitan Dallas, Tarrant County and San Antonio and Bexar County United Way affiliates.

During Houston’s 2023 United Way campaign, Amegy Bank associates raised $875,003 and Scott McLean, former CEO and now Zions Bancorporation’s chief operating officer, was designated “Volunteer of the Century” for his outstanding service. Since 1990, Amegy Bank employees have raised more than $10.5 million for United Way.

Established in 1990, Amegy Bank, a division of Zions Bancorporation NA, operates approximately 75 locations across Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Central Texas.
