Amegy Bank to Relocate Central Texas Headquarters to Downtown San Antonio High-Rise

June 13, 2024

Houston-based Amegy Bank is relocating its Central Texas headquarters to a downtown San Antonio high-rise—300 Convent—and adding a banking center to the building’s ground floor. With scenic views from the 21st and 22nd floors, spanning more than 40,000 square feet, the new downtown hub will accommodate a combined 100 offices and workstations, a conference center for large customer and community events, and smaller meeting spaces. Amegy Bank’s new downtown banking center will open in early 2025 when headquarters office employees plan to take residency of the new office space.

“Amegy Bank will make a transformational addition to our growing downtown, expanding critical access to industry-leading financial solutions and counsel for the community’s businesses and families,” says Ron Nirenberg, San Antonio mayor.

Downtown San Antonio businesses and organizations, like Centro San Antonio, are already looking forward to welcoming Amegy Bank as a downtown neighbor. Fostering downtown’s mission for innovation and community, Centro is a diverse coalition of young professionals, artists, business and property owners and community advocates, all dedicated to serving downtown.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Amegy as our partner in moving downtown forward, and in joining us as neighbors and colleagues,” says Trish DeBerry, president and CEO of Centro San Antonio. “Amegy brings a fresh dynamic to our city center, infusing new energy and shaping our downtown landscape by investing in what lies ahead. Downtown San Antonio is ushering in a new era of growth, and we are thrilled to have Amegy spearhead these developments as we look to expand on the momentum shaping our community and city.”

“We have had the privilege of growing alongside local families and businesses since our humble start in San Antonio almost 20 years ago,” says David McGee, Central Texas CEO. “Our new space, situated at the cornerstone of the community and commerce, will allow us to stay on pace with serving San Antonio’s rapid growth for years to come.”

Established in 2005, Amegy Bank, a division of Zions Bancorporation NA, has more than 75 locations across Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Central Texas.
