Amegy Bank Gives Away a Total of $30,000 to Three Lucky Customers

February 2, 2024

In January, Houston-based Amegy Bank gave away $10,000 each to three lucky clients—one in San Antonio and two in the bank’s Houston region. According to the bank’s press release, “Times are tough for everyone right now, with the current state of the economy, inflation and overall cost of living, so Amegy Bank wanted to start the new year off by spreading cheer and prosperity.” Bank customers were entered for the chance to win every time they used their personal Amegy Bank debit or credit card during the last few weeks of 2023.

The three winning customers picked up their checks during the later part of January at Amegy Bank branches:

  • Pasadena-based customer Johnny Pancake was thrilled to win $10,000 and mentioned upon receiving his check that “things like this don’t normally happen to [him].” He plans to use the money to take his fiancée on a nice date or special trip.
  • Joseph Zamarron, based in Needville, at first didn’t believe his local banker when they called to tell him he had won $10,000. An Amegy Bank client for 30 years, he and his wife plan to use the money for their 17-year-old daughter who travels frequently for competitive volleyball tournaments. They also have some home renovations and repairs on which they’d like to spend the money.
  • Santiago Sanchez, based in San Antonio, has been an Amegy Bank customer for almost 10 years. He is raising his 9-year-old grandson by himself and plans to use the funds on him, as well as fixing his truck that needs some repairs.

Established in 1990, Amegy Bank, a division of Zions Bancorporation NA, operates approximately 75 locations across Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Central Texas.
