Dallas-based PlainsCapital Bank announced that it has hired two bankers to serve on the bank’s relationship management teams in The Woodlands and Denton.
Jamie Ballard, CTP, has joined the bank as senior vice president/senior relationship manager. He will office out of The Woodlands branch at 1699 Research Forest Dr., Ste. 100.
Ballard brings more than 28 years of experience in financial services, with a strong track record of driving growth, building high-performing teams and serving middle-market and commercial clients across the Houston region. Prior to joining PlainsCapital Bank, he served as senior vice president/North team lead at Veritex Community Bank (now Huntington Bank) in The Woodlands, where he built and managed a $140 million portfolio of loans and deposits. Previously, he spent five years with Allegiance Bank (now Stellar Bank) as vice president of commercial banking. His earlier career includes commercial banking roles at Regions Bank and Capital One Bank.
“Jamie knows the Houston market and has spent years working directly with commercial clients,” says Danny Schroder, Houston region chair. “His background leading teams and serving a wide range of clients will be an asset as we continue growing our presence across Houston.”
Ballard holds a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation and serves on the board of the Players Theatre Co. He earned a BS degree in finance from the University of Phoenix.
Roger Retzer has joined PlainCapital Bank’s Denton lending team as vice president/relationship manager. He will be based at the bank’s Denton location at 513 W. Oak St.
Retzer brings more than 16 years of experience in financial services. He most recently served as assistant vice president/portfolio manager at Happy State Bank. Prior to that, he held a similar role with Texas Bank and Trust and served as vice president/commercial lending at PointBank. Earlier in his career, Retzer held various credit analysis and commercial lending roles at several Texas community banks.
“Having worked with Roger at other local banks over the past several years, it’s great to have him on our team and to welcome him back to Denton with PlainsCapital Bank,” says Randy Robinson, Denton market president.
Retzer earned a BBA degree in finance from the University of North Texas and an MBA degree from Southern Methodist University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Flower Mound’s Class of 2025.
“Roger brings deep experience in commercial lending and credit underwriting, and we’re excited to have him join our team in Denton,” says Mark Warren, Fort Worth region chair. “His understanding of the Denton market and his ability to work directly with clients to structure thoughtful financial solutions make him an exceptional addition to our team.”
