On October 27, team members from Tyler-based Southside Bank gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark its newly constructed drive-through bank at 1010 E. 1st St. in Tyler. The new facility, which replaced the bank’s existing drive-through next door (built in 1979), is equipped with seven drive-through lanes, a new pneumatic tube system and a modern design to match Southside Bank’s rebranding efforts that began in 2017.
“With all of our branch remodels—and particularly with this new drive-through bank—our focus has been on the customer and their banking needs,” Cindy Blackstone, chief retail officer, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph. “What is best for the customer is what’s best for the bank.”
Established in 1960, Southside Bank operates 56 branches throughout East Texas, Southeast Texas and the greater Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin and Houston areas.
