Texas: Kidd Retires from East Texas’ Austin Bank

Jeff Austin Jr., chair of Jacksonville- based Austin Bank, announced that Kathy L. Kidd, senior vice president and deposit operations manager, is retiring after 21 years of service to the bank. Kidd began her 49-year banking career in 1970 while attending Gladewater High School. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Gladewater-based First State Bank, where she was promoted to assistant cashier. In 1981, Kidd was named vice president and cashier for Kilgore-based City National Bank. In 1995, she joined First Service Bank (now Capital One) as assistant cashier.

Kidd made the move to Austin Bank in 1998 as operations officer and bookkeeping supervisor, was promoted to assistant vice president and bookkeeping manager, named vice president of operations in 2008 and, in 2017, promoted to her current position as senior vice president and deposit operations manager.

A graduate of Kilgore College, Kidd has completed numerous banking courses, including the Banking Operations Institute at East Texas State University.

“Kathy has earned the admiration and respect of her co-workers and peers in the financial community,” says Jeff Austin III, vice chairman of the board. “She has a reputation for her knowledge, reliability and integrity. Kathy will be missed.”
