Amarillo-based FirstBank Southwest recently announced that Bowden Jones Jr. has been named executive vice president and chief consumer officer. He will head consumer loans, retail banking and business development for the bank. With more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry, Jones previously worked at other banks in the Amarillo market serving in a number of positions, including senior vice president/retail banking manager and, prior to that, as a branch manager.
Bowden holds a BS degree in business from Wayland Baptist University. He is very active in the Amarillo community, having served on the College Success Initiative, The Urban Project, Amarillo ISD committees, Amarillo CASA and Junior Achievement. He currently serves on the boards for Leadership Amarillo and Canyon and Amarillo/Canyon United Way. Bowden is a commissioner for the Amarillo Planning and Zoning Commission and is also involved with the Northside Community Engagement Committee and Northside Toy Drive.
