First-Lockhart National Bank recently announced the promotion of Mark Sheffield to president and chief executive officer. With the bank since 2014, previously he served as executive vice president and chief operations officer. Sheffield has more than 30 years of banking and financial services experience. Prior to joining First-Lockhart National Bank, he served as executive vice president, director and branch president at Roscoe State Bank. His background also includes service at Synergy Bank SSB, Synergy Financial Group Inc. and Lost Pines National Bank. Sheffield earned a BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas.
Sheffield takes the helm from Roland Velvin, who has served as president and CEO since 2008. During his tenure, Velvin optimized growth in Lockhart and expanded the bank’s service into Kyle, Austin and San Marcos. Established in 1889, First-Lockhart National Bank operates banking offices in Lockhart, Austin and Kyle.
