Jackson, Mississippi-based Trustmark National Bank has promoted Steven D. Erickson to community bank president for the company’s Homewood, Alabama, market. The bank recently opened a new full-service branch in Homewood, expanding its Birmingham-area footprint. Erickson has more than 35 years of experience in the banking industry, previously serving as senior vice president and commercial relationship manager for Trustmark National Bank.
“Erickson brings a strong background in credit, commercial lending and business banking to his new role,” Art Stevens, president of retail banking, told the Birmingham Business Journal. “I am confident that under [his] leadership, we will continue to build our presence in the market, not only through our product and service offerings, but also through our financial and volunteer support for the Homewood and greater Birmingham community.”
Erickson earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Birmingham–Southern College. He is a former volunteer for the American Heart Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Children’s Dance Foundation, and also served on the board of trustees for the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1889, Trustmark National Bank operates more than 200 branches in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
