Louisiana: MC Bank & Trust Promotes Callais to President; Names Richard Executive Vice President and COO

Morgan City-based MC Bank & Trust Co. announced that Jeremy Callais has been elected president. In addition, Travis Richard has been promoted to replace Callais as executive vice president and chief operations officer.

Callais began his banking career as a network administrator and subsequently served as MC Bank’s Fiserv trainer, operations officer, chief operations officer and chief financial officer prior to being named president. He earned both BS and master’s degrees in education.

Callais has completed studies at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the Wharton School of Business leadership and management certification. He has also completed the ABA Compliance School and the BAI School of Operations, Payments and Technologies.

Callais serves on the board of the Kiwanis Club of East St. Mary and is a member of the advisory council for Central Catholic Schools. He also serves on the board of the St. Mary Industrial Group and the financial council of Holy Cross Church, and is past president of the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce.

Callais is a member of the administrative committee for the community bank council of the American Bankers Association, where he also serves on the core processing committee. He has also served as a task force and peer group member for many of the Louisiana Bankers Association’s working groups. Callais served as an advisor for the Stonier Graduate School of Banking for the past two years and is a former member of the board of the Louisiana Young Bankers Association.

Richard has been affiliated with MC Bank & Trust for eight years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana and completed studies at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He has also completed the American Bankers Association Compliance School and the Louisiana Bankers Association Leadership School.

Richard serves on the board of the East St. Mary Kiwanis Club and on the pastoral council of Holy Cross Catholic Church. In addition, he participated in the Federal Reserve Bank’s Banking on Leaders of Tomorrow program.

Founded in 1955, MC Bank & Trust Co. operates banking offices in Morgan City, Bayou Vista, Amelia, Lafayette and Youngsville, as well as a loan production office in New Orleans.
