Vacherie-based First American Bank and Trust announced that Brian Nizzo has been promoted to chief lending officer. He began his banking career in 2005 after graduating from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. In 2006, Nizzo joined First American Bank and Trust as a lending officer and, soon thereafter, graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He has more than 13 years of banking experience, specializing in commercial real estate lending and business development.
Over the past 12 years with First American Bank, Nizzo has capitalized on growth within the Baton Rouge market by developing and maintaining one of the largest loan portfolios in the area. He will continue to focus on business development and building his business relationships within the Baton Rouge market and beyond.
In his role as chief lending officer, Nizzo oversees a team of 32 lenders across 25 branches in Southeast Louisiana.
Established in 1910 as the Bank of Vacherie, the name was changed in 1978 to First American Bank and Trust. The bank operates offices in the parishes of St. James, Lafourche, St. Charles, Jefferson, St. John, Assumption, Ascension, Tangipahoa, East Baton Rouge, St. Tammany and Terrebonne.
