Glen Thurman, board chairman and chief executive officer of The First National Bank of Moody, recently announced that Leann Sanchez has been promoted to president and COO. She has been with the bank since 2014. Since joining The First National Bank of Moody, she has earned her certification in bank compliance and BSA/AML from Independent Community Bankers of America certification schools and has completed the bank operations institute study program. Sanchez is a recent graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Sanchez is a graduate of the University of Texas–Arlington with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. She succeeds her father, Glen Thurman, as only the fifth president of the 125-year-old family-owned community bank.
Founded in 1893 as a private bank, the company was named The First National Bank of Moody in 1901 when it received its national charter.
