J. Pat Hickman, chairman and chief executive officer of Amarillo-based Happy State Bank, has announced the addition of Bill Holland as executive vice president of marketing. He comes to Happy State Bank with a marketing background that includes strategic branding, creative oversight of website redesigns, public relations campaigns and developing comprehensive marketing campaigns and integrative marketing initiatives. A few of his former clients include ExxonMobil, 3M, Verizon and the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum.
Holland previously served as CEO of Holland Merriman Christian in Amarillo. Other experience includes working for Fellers Marketing and Advertising in Austin, and Bates Southwest (a division of Bates Worldwide) in Houston.
A native of Amarillo, Holland graduated from the University of Texas–Austin with a bachelor of science degree. He is a past president of the Amarillo Advertising Federation and was a board member for South Texas Region American Association of Advertising Agencies, Austin Lyric Opera, Lone Star Ballet and Caritas, a nonprofit helping homeless and underemployed families.
“Bill has an incredible background working all around the country, but he knows Texas best,” Hickman says. “He knows the people and understands that Happy banking revolves around building personal relationships.”
