On August 14, during the Plaquemine City Council meeting, Mayor Ed Reeves read a proclamation recognizing the 50th anniversary of Plaquemine Bank & Trust Co. and designating the day as Plaquemine Bank & Trust Co. Day. Stephen Panepinto, the bank’s chairman, president and CEO, noted the bank’s commitment to Plaquemine and significance of its slogan “We Love It Here!”
Panepinto introduced the directors and officers in order of their years of service. Board members recognized were G.W. Banta (1968, the year the bank was founded); Steve Panepinto (32 years); Kenny C. Caruso (six years); Harry “Skip” Phillips and Leo Sternfels (four years); and Mark Graffeo (one year). Unable to attend were John Gum (39 years) and Frances D. Durand (24 years).
Bank officers recognized were Liz B. Rivet (44 years); Caroline Causin (41 years); Steve Panepinto (35 years); Rhett Vaughn (28 years); Totsie Tempanaro (26 years); Janet B. Campo (21 years); Corey Sarullo (two years) and Kirk Maynard (one year). Plaquemine Bank officers’ average length of service is 27 years.
