Citizens Bank Hires Brown, Thompson and Bockholt

Kilgore-based Citizens Bank has announced additions to its executive team.

Barry Brown has been hired as the CEO of the newly created loan production and deposit production office in Plano. With more than 36 years of banking experience, he will be responsible for the growth and development of the bank’s first metroplex location. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, he was responsible for the opening of a de novo branch for Texas Bank and Trust in Frisco. Brown served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for more than 29 years. He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana State University.

Wes Thompson joins Citizens Bank as CEO of the Kountze and Sour Lake banking centers. With more than 10 years of banking experience, he will be responsible for the day-to-day management, financial performance and long-term growth strategy for those locations. Previously, Thompson served as the branch retail executive of BBVA Compass Bank. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Lamar University, where he received both his undergraduate degree in applied arts and sciences and an MBA degree.

David Bockholt joins the bank as vice president of commercial lending for The Woodlands banking center. With more than 35 years of experience, his primary responsibility will be commercial lending. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, Bockholt served as senior vice president of commercial lending for PlainsCapital Bank. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University.
