Tupelo-based Renasant Corp. recently announced that C. Mitchell Waycaster has been promoted to chief executive officer of both the company and Renasant Bank. He will retain his title of president for both the company and the bank. E. Robinson McGraw, Renasant’s immediate past CEO, will become executive chairman for both the company and the bank.
Having joined Renasant in 1979, Waycaster was named president and COO in 2016 after serving as senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer since 2007.
Waycaster holds a BBA from the University of Mississippi and is a graduate of numerous financial services schools.
In addition to Waycaster’s promotion, Kevin D. Chapman, Renasant’s chief financial officer, has been named chief operating officer and will retain his responsibilities as CFO. He has been CFO and an executive vice president for the company since 2011 and corporate accounting officer since 2006. Chapman has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, with experience that includes initial public offerings, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, investor relations and corporate strategy. He received his MBA and a BS in accounting from Troy University.
Renasant Corp. is the parent of Renasant Bank, a 114-year-old financial services institution with 180 banking, mortgage and wealth management offices in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
