On May 3, Gulfport-based Hancock Whitney Bank announced that it has hired John L. Daniel to be the bank’s new market president for the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, region. He succeeds Robert Schneckenburger, who has been in that position since 2016 and is now senior regional president for the company.
Prior to joining Hancock Whitney Bank, Daniel worked for the past 31 years at JPMorgan Chase as an executive director, senior commercial banker and senior vice president. His banking experience also includes positions in commercial and real estate lending at JPMorgan Chase and commercial and correspondent banking roles at the former Hibernia Bank.
Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in management and administration, as well as a bachelor’s degree in marketing, from Louisiana State University. He is a fellow of the LSU Academy of Politics, a certified municipal financial professional and registered Louisiana lobbyist.
“John L. Daniel has long been an asset to our industry and our community because of his superb banking expertise, civic and cultural service, and his commitment to Greater Baton Rouge,” Schneckenburger says.
The newly christened Hancock Whitney Bank—the result of a 2010 merger between Hancock Bank and Whitney Bank—has locations in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
