In April, Forrest City-based Armor Bank announced the appointment of Chad May as chief executive officer of the bank and its holding company, Big Creek Bancshares Inc. He will be responsible for the vision and strategy of the organization, including the development of a central Arkansas presence for the bank. May will be based in Little Rock, where the bank plans to begin its expansion.
May comes to Armor Bank with 19 years of experience in the banking industry. Most recently, he worked as a commercial banking executive for Regions Bank, based in Birmingham, Alabama. There, he spent the past nine years in business and commercial banking and was responsible for 18 commercial lenders across multiple markets in Arkansas.
May, a Pine Bluff native, graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing management.
“I am excited to lead such a talented group of individuals as we work toward growing our central Arkansas presence and beyond,” May says. “It is a great opportunity to build upon a long history of 99 years of success in the Forrest City area.”
State chartered in 1919 as the Forrest City Bank, the name was changed to Armor Bank in 2017. Currently, it has approximately $53 million in total assets.
